Lead Check-Off

Ready to get checked off?

If you’ve completed the Vertical Ventures Lead Climbing Class and have had time to practice, this 30-minute session is your opportunity to demonstrate your lead climbing and belaying skills with an instructor.

During your check-off, you’ll be asked to demonstrate:

• proper knots and tie-in
• equipment setup and partner checks
• clipping and rope management
• lead climbing technique
• lead belaying and catching falls
• clear climbing communication

Our instructor will evaluate your skills and provide feedback during the session.

Prerequisite: Completion of the Vertical Ventures Lead Climbing Class and sufficient practice to confidently demonstrate the required skills.

Successful completion of the check-off earns your Vertical Ventures lead certification.
